While the theme “Some Things Never Change” celebrated the spirit that has continued for more than four decades, the 2021 show did see changes. Loyd Auditorium seating was limited. Livestream emcees hosted viewers who could purchase online tickets for the first time. The program spotlighting hosts, hostesses, staff, cast and showband was shared online (still at fhu.edu/makinmusic). In a year that demanded continual problem-solving and flexibility, however, talent shined as brightly as ever . . . and the music played on.
