Blackboard Course Shell Creation
Faculty who are charged with the task of developing DLE-based courses may request the creation of a course shell prior to the automated population of the course in Blackboard. To accomplish this task, the faculty of record must complete the form titled, Request to Create Blackboard Course Shell and attach a signed, digital copy to a HelpDesk ticket for submission to IT. The form must be signed by the faculty member and the dean of the college.

Granting Access to Blackboard Courses
On occasion, it may be necessary to grant course access to individuals other than those automatically enrolled in the course. To accomplish this task, the faculty of record or the college dean should complete the form titled, Request to Grant Access to Blackboard Course and attach a signed, digital copy of the form to a HelpDesk ticket for submission to IT. Please note that the faculty of record does not need to complete a form if they plan to add individuals to a course. This only applies if the faculty member requests IT to perform this task on their behalf.

Increase Blackboard Course Size Limit
Beginning with the Summer and Fall 2014 semesters, courses in Blackboard will be restricted to a 2 GB size limit. Faculty are encouraged to adhere to this limitation through the application of "best practices" for developing and hosting content in Blackboard. This includes the creation of videos and other content whose file sizes may be significantly reduced by applying certain techniques during the creation process. Regardless, the University recognizes that some courses may require additional space to store and deliver timely and relevant content to students. To increase the size limit of a course, faculty should complete the form titled, Request to Increase Blackboard Course Storage Limit and attach a signed, digital copy of the form to a HelpDesk ticket for submission to IT. The form must be signed by the faculty member, dean of the college and a CII staff member.
