Spanish Immersion Program

The Spanish Immersion Program, offered in the summer of even years, is an exciting opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge of Spanish language and culture, all while receiving academic credit that can count toward their degree. The program is based in Madrid, Spain, at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world.

While in Madrid, you can:

  • Take Spanish language and culture classes: Attend Spanish classes every weekday taught by native speakers. Then step outside the classroom and advance your language studies even further by immersing yourself in Spanish language and culture.
  • Explore Spain: Participate in optional excursions and cultural experiences throughout Spain, such as a flamenco performance in Grenada.
  • Experience life in Spain: See the culture first-hand when you stand in front of the works of Spanish painters like El Greco and Picasso, enjoy merienda (an afternoon snack) in La Puerta del Sol, and rest in the beautiful Parque del Buen Retiro.
