Freed-Hardeman University's "Brown Bag" lunch performances provide a relaxed, informal atmosphere for music students and guest artists to present recitals and lectures. The noontime performances are designed to encourage students, faculty, staff, and the community to have lunch and enjoy a live program that has included Native American percussionists, Carnegie Hall performers, choral ensembles, voice and piano performers, classical guitarists, violinists, short play productions, lectures, and other fine arts programs. Performers not only include FHU students and faculty and those in the West Tennessee region, but guest performers from places as diverse as Australia, the Czech Republic, and Russia.
