Institutional Accreditation

Freed–Hardeman University (FHU) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, education specialist, and doctoral degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of FHU may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at: 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033–4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on the SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).

 

Program Accreditation

The Freed-Hardeman University Department of Nursing maintains professional association with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The AACN document, Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (2008), serves as the guide for curriculum development, design, and implementation.  

The baccalaureate degree in nursing at Freed-Hardeman University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (https://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

The CCNE Board of Commissioners granted accreditation of the baccalaureate degree program in nursing with an effective date of October 4, 2019 for a period of 10-years, ending December 31, 2029. The Board determined that all four accreditation standards were met with no compliance concerns noted.

Tennessee Board of Nursing Approval

The Bachelor of Science In Nursing (BSN) program at Freed-Hardeman University is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.  The initial approval was granted in November 2010, and full approval granted in August 2013.
