December 2013

Dec. 17, 2013

It was the most interesting Benefit Dinner to say the least. After much anticipation about hosting Mrs. Laura Bush as the 2013 Benefit Dinner speaker, the icy weather did not allow her to arrive in Henderson. Then, after securing investigative journalist Bob Woodward as an alternate speaker, the weather kept him also from arriving in Henderson.

Since the poor weather also kept a large number of regular guests away from campus, all the students were invited to join us for the dinner and musical entertainment, a treat they very much enjoyed.

Fortunately, however, the following week the weather allowed eager graduates and their families to be part of the December commencement exercises which took place on December 13, 2013. The floor of Loyd Auditorium was full as over 90 graduates walked across the stage to accept their hard-earned diplomas.

The year is coming to and end, but much preparation is underway for the spring semester. We hope to see you on campus next semester for the Bible Lectureship, Makin' Music, or anytime you're passing through Henderson. You are FHU for Life!
