Day Tripping in Europe

Feb. 27, 2017

One of the great benefits to being centrally located in Western Europe is how easy it is to visit many of Europe's marvelous cities – even if it it's just for a quick day trip. From our facility in Verviers, Belgium, we can travel by train to cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, and Luxembourg in just a few short hours.

Every semester, our students take the afternoon off to visit some remarkable cities and towns within a short distance from Verviers. Below are just a few of our favorites!

FHU students in Maastricht

Maastricht, Netherlands – the birthplace of the European Union and the euro currency

FHU students at Waterloo

Waterloo, Belgium – where Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated in his last battle on June 18, 1815

FHU students in Cologne

Cologne, Germany – the beautiful city on the Rhine, with a skyline dominated by the twin spires of the city's massive Dom (cathedral)
