During the Spring and Summer breaks each year, Freed-Hardeman students, faculty and staff are involved in a variety of mission efforts in various places around the globe. Some of these include internships and working with fellow Christians who are not directly linked to FHU. While acknowledging the participation of many others, the figures below reflect only our FHU family, although the information made available to our office is most likely incomplete.
The 2015 Spring Break Campaigns targeted six U.S. states and four foreign countries, with at least 232 FHU personnel. The stateside works included Dallas, TX (XBX social club); Hickman County, TN (PKA social club); Mobile, AL Inner City; Pineville, LA (Bethel Springs church); Valrico, FL (Theta Nu social club); and Spencer, WI (XBX social club). The overseas mission trips were to Dominican Republic (Sigma Rho social club); Haiti (medical mission); Honduras (Xi Chi Delta social club); and Panama.
The 2015 Summer Mission Trips include eleven foreign countries and two stateside works, involving 51 current FHU persons and at least 41 alumni. One student is working with the Mobile, AL Inner City ministry, and a small group is helping a mission congregation in Montana. The overseas locations are Bonaire, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Malawi, Nicaragua, Poland, South Korea, and Thailand.
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me’” (Isaiah 6:8 ESV).
