"I Am Blessed"

Oct. 06, 2015

 From the pen of Dr. Sam Jones

“I am blessed!”

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings; name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

This beautiful hymn encourages each one of us to count our blessings even when we think that we don’t have any. Daily God blesses us with numerous physical and spiritual blessings. Life’s experiences or encounters can block our ability to see and/or enjoy these blessings.

My challenge for you today is to pause and count your blessings. Hopefully, you can agree with the opening declaration of this Spiritual Moment – “I am blessed!” Have a good day -- remembering you are blessed.
