“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart: I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You: I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High” (Psalm 90:1-2).
Have you experienced a time in your life when you believed and felt God had smiled on you? Have you experienced a time of joy and gladness when it became extremely difficult to hold back the tears? The Psalmist, in our text, experienced such a time. God had delivered him from a stressful situation in his life. As a result, he was led to make the following declarations: (1) he was determined to give praise or thanksgiving to God, not half-heartedly, but with his complete being; (2) he just had to tell others of God’s great works in his life; (3) he acknowledged that his relationship with God had produced great joy and happiness in his life; and (4) he was resolved to sing or shout out to the world of the wonderful attributes of God.
If God has been good to you, then smile. If God has removed obstacles in your life, then be thankful. If God has given you peace, then tell someone. Imagine David singing the song, “God is so good; God is so good. God is so good; He’s so good to me.” He had experienced God’s goodness, and felt the need to tell someone. What about you?
May God bless you with a great weekend! Remember to attend worship on Sunday.
