Support for Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning are simple words with substantial meaning. Academic excellence in teaching and learning is what each faculty member and student at Freed-Hardeman strives to achieve inside and outside of the classroom.

The mission of the Center for Instructional Innovation (CII) is to engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning. CII perpetuates this mission by supporting faculty in their pursuit of excellence by embracing new and innovative methods of teaching and learning across various modalities, including traditional and distance learning venues. CII’s employs a systematic, multifaceted approach to faculty support that is based on research, application, and assessment of proven educational strategies and techniques to improve student learning. The overarching goal of this process is to create learning environments where students may mature as Christians and actively engage in thinking, doing, and learning.
