How can engaged learning projects within a class be utilized to perform the scholarship of teaching and learning? The goal of this session is to encourage faculty to think about how engaged learning approaches in the classroom can lead to a scholarship of teaching and learning projects. Dr. Rachel Salmon will share her work with SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagement and Responsibilities) to engage students in her Principles of Biology (BIO 110) and Cell Biology (BIO 205) classes. During the session, Dr. Salmon will also discuss funding options and opportunities for presentation and reporting of such work.
