Engaged Learning projects are being implemented both inside and outside the classroom. During this session, Dr. Bryan Black will discuss two very different ELI special projects. The first project was conducted in his Operations and Supply Management course and the second project examined attitudes expressed by FHU students on social media. Successes, challenges, impacts, and lessons learned from both projects will be discussed.
Operations Management Classroom Simulation
Dr. Black’s Operations and Supply Management course (MGT 345) has undergone substantial changes to include manufacturing simulation exercises that provide students real-world scenarios that turn theory into practice.
Social Media and Christianity
Dr. Black and a graduate student are currently conducting research regarding attitudes expressed by students on social media and how they compare to beliefs and attitudes espoused as a University and expected from its students. The study is using readily available social media sources from which posts can be extracted from FHU students.
