Effective Classroom Management for the College Classroom Environment
A four-part series workshop has been designed to provide faculty an opportunity to strengthen their pedagogical skills. This series of workshops has been scheduled in response to faculty requests for peer-lead sessions that examine topics related to instructional design. While faculty are accomplished in their fields, some acknowledge they have not received formal pedagogical training.
The second part of the series will focus on Effective Classroom Management for the College Classroom Environment. Faculty will be provided practical teaching strategies that will help them transition from content experts into effective content deliverers. Topics to be discussed include:
-
SCARF (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, Fairness)
-
Policies and procedures
-
Types of classroom management (preventive, supportive, and corrective)
-
Discipline approaches (Assertive, Hostile, and Non-Assertive)
-
Techniques and strategies
Registration is required and seating is limited to 10 participants.
