About Christopher White
I grew up far away from here - Rhode Island - and after getting off Active Duty in the Army, made the good decision to move to Tennessee. I met my wife, the former Diana Booth, shortly after moving to TN. Diana attended FHU prior to going to Pharmacy school. We've now been married for over 28 years. We have two children, Shelby (FHU '16) and Booth (attending FHU) and are very proud of both of them. We also have a son-in-law, James Biggs (FHU '12), whom we're also proud of. I've got three cats; Melanie, Minnie, and Barney, and a 'grand-dog', Willie.
I served in each branch of the Army (Active, Reserve, and National Guard) for a combined total of nearly 24 years. I served in both the Enlisted and the Officer Corps, retiring in October 2008 at the rank of Major. I am very proud of my military service and am happy to encourage others to explore opportunities that the military can provide.
My family and I worship at the North Jackson church of Christ. I currently serve as a Deacon and co-teach in various adult classes. My wife and kids are also very involved in a variety of activities in the church.
I started teaching with Freed-Hardeman in August 2009. Prior to this new and exciting opportunity, I worked in bedside nursing and management positions, primarily in the Emergency Department setting. I'm very excited about being a part of the Freed-Hardeman family and growing within the university and the department of nursing.
