About Kevin Moore

Kevin L. Moore is Associate Professor of Bible and Missions and serves as the Director of the Missions Studies Program. He has been a full-time faculty member in FHU's College of Biblical Studies since 2004, having served a combined total of three years as missionary-in-residence (1994-96, 2003-04) and sixteen years as a missionary in New Zealand (1987-1994, 1996-2003, 2010-2012). He is advisor for all missions majors and minors, co-sponsor and planner of FHU’s Missions Group. Dr. Moore has authored four books, is a staff writer for The Voice of Truth International, has had numerous articles published in various brotherhood publications, and posts weekly articles in his personal blog Moore Perspective.

Teaching Experience

2004 to Present	Associate Professor of Bible – Freed-Hardeman University Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in New Testament and Missions, mentoring masters theses incl. oral comps examination panel, academic committees, individualized instructions and independent studies.
2012 to Present	Director of Missions Studies – Freed-Hardeman University Duties include working with other missions faculty to improve our missions studies program, program coordinator of the BA degree in Missions, director of the missionary apprenticeship S.O.W.E.R. program, supervising spring and summer Field Labs in missions, active recruitment and facilitator of missionaries-in-residence, inviting guest missionaries to campus, organizing and directing FHU’s annual Missions Emphasis Days each Fall semester, coordinator of the annual FHU Bible Lectureship Missions Forum, coordinator and co-sponsor of bimonthly Missions Group meetings, advising all missions majors and minors and recruiting additional missions majors, maintaining records of FHU campaigns, and maintaining missions files.
2003 to 2004	Missionary-in-Residence – Freed-Hardeman University Duties included teaching undergraduate courses in missions, working closely with mission-minded students and missions faculty, and co-sponsoring Evangelism Forum and Missions Group.

Work Experience

2010 to 2012	Full-time missionary in Porirua, New Zealand Church planting, leaving behind a congregation of about thirty members with FHU alumni carrying on the work. Duties included outreach and personal evangelism, developing Bible study materials, organizing and directing evangelistic campaigns, congregational preaching and teaching, administrative duties, leadership training, and mentoring a young missionary couple.
1996 to 2003	Full-time missionary in Wanganui, New Zealand Church planting, leaving behind a congregation of about forty members with a full-time NZ evangelist. Duties included outreach and personal evangelism, developing Bible study materials, organizing and directing evangelistic campaigns, congregational preaching and teaching, administrative duties, leadership training, conflict management, serving as the editor of The Exhorter (a quarterly brotherhood journal), and mentoring a young NZ evangelist.
1994 to 1995	Part-time preacher, Cross Roads church of Christ, Bells, Tennessee Weekly sermons preached and adult Bible classes taught while a graduate student/missionary-in-residence at FHU.
1987 to 1994	Full-time missionary in Wellington, New Zealand and Pacific Islands The church in Wellington grew from about sixty members in 1987 to 110 in 1994. Duties included outreach and personal evangelism, organizing and directing evangelistic campaigns and family camps, congregational preaching and teaching, administrative duties, leadership training, conflict management, youth group activities, and directing an outreach program on the campus of Victoria University. Short-term evangelistic trips to the Pacific Island nations of Niue Island, the Cook Islands, and the Philippines, totaling twenty-seven weeks.
1985 to 1986	Part-time preacher, Sweetwater church of Christ, Sweetwater, Tennessee Biweekly sermons preached while a student at the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions.
