About Rachel Stevens Salmon

I graduated from Freed-Hardeman in December of 2003 with a B.S. in biology. I completed my Ph.D. in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology at The Ohio State University in June of 2010. The focus of my dissertation research was to characterize extracellular and intracellular regulation of DNA repair machinery.

I have always enjoyed studying biology. I believe studying biology helps us understand more about the world, more about ourselves and how we work, and ultimately, more about the mind and power of The Creator. I have found that studying biology has had a profound impact on my faith as I have grown in my appreciation for what God did in Genesis and how He continues to sustain life.
