All federal grants, loans, and federal work study program funds are awarded based on the information you provide on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Make sure that you list FHU in the Student's School Information on the FAFSA. FHU's school code is 003492. In order to receive federal financial aid, you must complete the FAFSA and submit it for processing. You must apply for financial aid every year. If you have questions about the FAFSA, please contact the Office of Student Financial Services at 1-800-FHU-FHU1 ext. 6662.
If you choose to do your FAFSA on the web, you will need to apply for a U.S. Department of Education FSA ID and Password. If parent information is required on the FAFSA, your parent must also apply for a separate FSA ID and Password in their name. Using your FSA ID and Password will allow you to sign your FAFSA application electronically. The website to request a FSA ID and Password studentaid.gov. Do NOT share your personal identification information with anyone!
Once your FAFSA application is processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) in approximately 3-5 days by mail or e-mail (if you provided an e-mail address).
If your SAR is marked for verification by the Department of Education, you will be asked to submit additional documents to the FHU Student Financial Services Office. You will receive a letter from the Office of Student Financial Services detailing the additional required documents or you can to the Verification page to finish the process.
Once your FAFSA is completed (and verification process, if applicable) the FHU Office of Student Financial Services will send you an Award Letter detailing your financial assistance. Follow the instructions to accept, reduce, or decline any awards and complete any required loan documents online.
