Freshmen FHU Promise Scholars pay only $775 in tuition and fees (comprehensive charge) per semester PLUS room and board charges. A dorm room currently costs $2,160 per semester and the most popular meal plan is $1,815 per semester. Federal student Stafford loans (or parent PLUS loans) are available to cover these remaining costs as needed.
Upperclassmen FHU Promise Scholars are eligible for additional Stafford loans. FHU Promise will be adjusted based on Stafford loan eligibility.
Under no circumstances will a FHU Promise Scholar have to pay or owe more than $6,250 per semester for tuition, fees, room and board. In rare cases, a student may not benefit from the FHU Promise since it is a last dollar scholarship. For example, an exceptional student with an above average merit award and the maximum in state and federal grants will not receive the FHU Promise because their need was already met.
For a personalized estimate of the total cost for you to attend FHU go to www.fhu.edu/npc.
Living in a dorm or privileged housing is part of the ultimate college experience and one of the secrets to FHU’s close-knit community. Studies also show dormitory living leads to better classroom performance and lower dropout rates.
