Business Analytics: Assistant or Associate Professor

Status: Full-Time, Faculty (9 month)

Reports To: Dean, College of Business

 

Position Summary:

The College of Business at Freed-Hardeman University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the assistant/associate level in Business Analytics beginning in August 2021. The College of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and offers undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in accounting, business analytics, finance, management, marketing, and sport administration in addition to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and MBA in Healthcare Management.

 

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Active member in good standing of the churches of Christ

  • An earned doctorate in data analytics, statistics, or a related discipline with graduate level major, minor, or concentration in the field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. ABD applicants who are close to degree completion will be considered.

  • Applicants with a Master’s degree in data analytics, statistics, or business and significant professional experience and/or professional certification will be considered.

  • Evidence of prior scholarship of discovery, integration, application, and/or teaching and learning is preferred. Commitment to ongoing scholarship is required.

  • A demonstrated history, competence in, and commitment to quality teaching of accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level is preferred.

  • Experience delivering courses in on-line and classroom formats that utilize current technology and pedagogies is preferred.

  • Demonstrated professional experience in business and industry where the candidate has employed business/data analytics to inform strategic decision making is strongly preferred.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned courses with a total load of 27 hours during the fall and spring semesters

  • Maintain at least 10 office hours each week during the contractual period for student appointments

  • Engage in scholarship

  • Engage in service to the department, college, University, and students

  • Serve as academic advisor, as assigned

  • Serve on university committees, as assigned

  • Serve as program coordinator, as assigned

  • Participate in student recruitment and program promotion, as requested

  • Participate in program, department, college, or faculty meetings, as requested

  • Abide by University policies governing behavior and in fulfillment of position and contract requirements

  • Perform other temporary duties as assigned by the dean or department chair

 

Compensation:

  • Position rank will be based on degree and experience.

  • Salary will be commensurate with degree, background, and experience.
