Institutional Research

Purpose

The Office of Institutional Research (IR) at Freed-Hardeman University connects administrators, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to the data that drives decision making and strategic planning processes. This is facilitated through collection, analysis, and dissemination of data reports and surveys in order to support the university in upholding its mission. Additionally, IR is responsible for reporting data to external agencies, including IPEDS and the Department of Education. 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Production of the annual FHU Fact Book

  • Assisting the Director for Institutional Effectiveness in monitoring the campus planning process by unit

  • Responding to external requests for data (federal and state governments, national higher education publications, accrediting agencies, research studies, etc.)

  • Administering, compiling, analyzing and disseminating faculty course evaluations conducted each semester

  • Overseeing the administration of and dissemination of data from campus surveys including the following:

    • Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory

    • National Survey of Student Engagement

    • Common Data Set

    • FHU Academic Advising Survey

    • FHU Alumni Survey

    • FHU Faculty and Staff Satisfaction Surveys

    • Senior Survey

    • Other miscellaneous and ad hoc survey requests
