Sodexo Takes Top Prize at FHU's Chili Bowl

For the second year in a row, dining service Sodexo took home the first place trophy at Freed-Hardeman University’s Chili Bowl. The Office of Alumni Relations and Student-Alumni Association hosted the annual event Monday, Jan. 26, in the Brewer Sports Center.

In the chili competition, judges gave top honors to Sodexo. Social club Sigma Rho was awarded second; Team Lilly, comprised of Tony Allen and daughter Lilly, was third; and social club Gamma Tau Omega was fourth. Gamma Tau Omega also received first place in the brownie competition. Judges awarded second place to social club Chi Beta Chi and third place to FHU’s SWSA, or Social Work Students in Action.

Attendees voted on the People’s Choice awards, presented to Team Lilly in the chili competition and SWSA in the brownie competition. Chi Beta Chi won the Club’s Choice chili award, additionally tying with social club Theta Nu for the Club’s Choice brownie award.

Spencer Morris, a senior communication major, emceed the event. Students from social club Phi Kappa Alpha provided music, including a rendition of “Wagon Wheel,” as entertainment for the evening.
