FHU Associates to Host 15th Annual Victorian Tea Party

Henderson, Tennessee - May 03, 2017

Ladies of all ages are invited to the historic Hardeman House, Saturday, May 6, from noon to 4 p.m., for the 15th annual Victorian tea party hosted by the Freed-Hardeman University Associates. The well-known venue on White Avenue in Henderson was the home of N. B. Hardeman, long-time president of FHU.

A selection of savory and sweet treats will be available, in addition to choices of hot or cold teas. Featured teas will be Cream Earl Grey, Mint Breeze Tea or Peach Dream Iced Tea. The menu will include tea sandwiches, shortbread, scones, bars, cake and fresh fruit.

In addition to touring the Hardeman House and enjoying a full afternoon tea, guests are invited to take part in various activities onsite. These include a spices of the world station, where guests can learn about new spices and taste recipes using them. A napkin folding demonstration will include techniques for setting the perfect table and the Tea Boutique will be open with mementos from the day and all things tea, including the varieties served at the tea party.

Venues for the youngest ladies have also been planned. They can enjoy dressing up with provided hats, gloves and fancy clothes and then pose for a photograph at a special tea party scene. Or, they can design their own version of Victorian fashions using paper and bits of ribbon and lace.

Advance ticket prices are $20 for adults ($22 at the door) and $15 for children ages 3 - 10 ($17 at the door). Admission is free for children 2 and younger. Tickets are available at the Welcome Center in FHU’s Gardner Center and at Knoell Family Dentistry or by calling 989-6000.
