FHU Bible Professor to Speak at Warren Center for Apologetics

Dr. Doug Burleson, associate professor of Bible at Freed-Hardeman University, will be the featured speaker at the 7th Annual Spring Apologetics Lecture at the Warren Christian Apologetics Center May 11. The theme is “Once Delivered, Forever Established: The Certainty of the Holy Scriptures” for the event in The Grand Pointe Conference and Reception Center in Vienna, West Virginia.

Burleson’s topics will be “The Authority of Text,” “The Canonicity of Text” and “The Authenticity of Text.” He will speak Thursday, May 11, from 1:30 to 4:30pm. In addition, a book based on the conference will be published through the Warren Apologetics Center following the event.

Burleson has taught undergraduate and graduate Bible courses at Freed-Hardeman University since 2010. He is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman and has master’s degrees from FHU, Lipscomb University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2012, Burleson completed a Ph.D. in New Testament and Greek at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary working in New Testament Textual Criticism. His work has been published in Warren Christian Apologetics Center’s bi-annual journal.

At Freed-Hardeman, Burleson directs the university’s Annual Bible Lectureship and the Graduate Theology Research Symposium.
