Henderson, Tennessee - Apr 12, 2021

Freed-Hardeman University will host an ethics colloquium titled “A Doctor’s Dilemma: Ethics in a Pandemic” April 12 at 6:00pm in Ayers Auditorium. Dr. Tyler Hughes will discuss how COVID impacts the practice of medicine.

A 2009 graduate of FHU, Hughes received his Doctor of Medicine from University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine in 2013. He completed an internal medicine residency and has practiced emergency medicine at Marshall Medical Center North in Guntersville, Alabama, since 2016. He is currently the chief-of-staff-elect at the medical center.

“Dr. Hughes will share a unique perspective that will help students of all backgrounds understand the complexities COVID has brought on healthcare,” Wendy Bennett-Gean, FHU assistant professor of biology, said. She directs the pre-health arts program at the university.
