FHU Health Arts Majors to Learn from the Pros

Freed-Hardeman University students majoring in the health sciences will have the opportunity to hear from professionals in various fields Saturday morning, Aug. 25, at the FHU College of Arts and Sciences’ annual “Prescription for Success.” The event will begin at 9:30am in Ayers Auditorium and conclude at noon.

 

Ten alumni speakers will return to share their insights into current practices and give an overview of their chosen fields in sessions dubbed, “So You Want to Be … .” Students will have the opportunity to attend two of these sessions. The closing session, entitled “Following Doctor’s Orders,” will provide information regarding FHU resources and programs designed to prepare students for admission to and success in professional school.

Guest speakers and their areas of expertise include the following: Dr. Chad Green, medicine; Dr. Josh Gravelle, dentistry; Dr. Rachel Wyatt, optometry; Whitney Gravelle, physician assistant; Chris Gilbert, pharmacy; Katie Lakoff, physical therapy; Dr. Sarah Fader, veterinary medicine; Mistie Hanks, occupational therapy; Chris Powers, medical laboratory science, and Nichole Blackburn, nursing.
