FHU Offers Test Optional Path to Admittance

Henderson, Tennessee - Jan 22, 2021

Freed-Hardeman University will offer a test optional path to admittance for the 2021-22 school year due to limited availability of ACT and SAT testing during the pandemic.

Prospective first-time students who meet the established criteria may be admitted without a standardized test score.

The criteria include a six-semester, cumulative high school grade point average of 3.25 or higher; or a six-semester, cumulative high school GPA in English, mathematics, and science courses of 3.0 or higher; or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in at least 15 dual enrollment hours. Prospective students who do not meet the GPA criteria, may still submit ACT, CLT or SAT test scores to be considered for traditional admittance. They may also appeal to the admissions review committee.

Students who submit an official transcript to FHU and who meet the criteria to be admitted without a test score should contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@fhu.edu to indicate that they would like to be admitted under the new policy. The accommodation is available through Aug. 30, 2021.

Questions about the new policy or other admissions-related matters may be submitted to admissions@fhu.edu.
