FHU Professor Named to Journal Editorial Board

Henderson, Tennessee - Oct 07, 2019

Dr. Ryan Hysmith, Freed-Hardeman University assistant professor of finance, has been selected to serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Technical Analysis (JOTA).

JOTA has been published for more than 35 years and is the premier peer-reviewed publication for technical analysis.

Hysmith, who is passionate about investing and introducing students to financial markets, is the program coordinator for FHU’s programs in finance and financial planning. In addition, he works with the university’s student-managed investment fund which manages an approximately $1 million portfolio. The Clayton Fund is in its 13th year of operation and has provided real-world experience to more than 80 student analysts.

Historically, FHU finance majors have proven themselves to be well-prepared. They have consistently scored at the 98-99th percentile on the Major Field Test in finance.

Beginning this fall, FHU students can select a Bachelor of Business Administration in a finance program specifically designed for those who desire a career in financial planning. FHU’s College of Business is a CFP Board educational partner and this program has been approved as a CFP Board Registered Program. Students who complete it are immediately eligible to sit for the CFP® Certification Exam. Additional information is available at fhu.edu/financial-planning.
