Isabel Harris, a senior mathematics major at Freed-Hardeman University, has been awarded an H.Y. Benedict Fellowship by the national college honor society Alpha Chi. Harris will use the fellowship this fall to pursue a doctorate in mathematics at Auburn University.
Alpha Chi awards 26 scholarships and fellowships totaling $74,000 annually to student members who submit their work to a rigorous national competition. Harris is one of 10 Benedict winners nationwide.
Harris serves as president of FHU’s Tennessee Iota chapter of Alpha Chi and was a nominee for Miss FHU.
