FHU Theatre to Present Original Work of Devised Theatre

Henderson, Tennessee - Feb 17, 2020

Freed-Hardeman University Theatre will present “Alice!” Feb. 18, 20-22 at 7:00pm, Feb. 19 at 8:00pm and Feb. 22 at 2:00pm in FHU’s Black Box Theatre. The original work of devised theatre explores who Alice is as she climbs through the mirror or plunges down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.

“Alice!” was created by R. Cliff Thompson, Brandyn Graves and the eight-person cast. A devised work is created in collaboration by a company of artists and incorporates a wide variety of storytelling techniques. Alice’s adventures are told through dance, song, story and percussion.

“We created ‘Alice!’ based upon our reading of Lewis Carroll’s  ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking-Glass,’” Thompson said. “We found ways to tell Alice’s story that are more diverse than we imagined.”

The company features Madison Davis, David Fonville, Spencer Hebert, Mariah Kerr, Braden Miller, Shayli Studer, Jon Michael Thompson and Lakyn Wools. Courtney Willcut is the stage manager.

General admission tickets are $11.50 and may be purchased at fhutickets.com. Additional information may be obtained by calling the theatre office at 731-989-6632.
