Mid-South Youth Camp Adds Board Member

Henderson, Tennessee - Apr 29, 2015

The Mid-South Youth Camp Advisory Board appointed Nick Dodd of Corinth, Mississippi, as a new member of the board at its April meeting. Dodd grew up attending the camp, located on Highway 45 North, as did his parents, brothers and cousins.

Dodd is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He has been a partner at Dodd Eye Clinic, an optometry clinic, for the past five years. He and his wife, Kimberly, have two sons, Nixon and Crews. The family attends the Foote Street Church of Christ in Corinth, where Dodd serves as a Bible class teacher.

“What a great opportunity to have the Dodd family working with MSYC,” Frank Bradford, camp director, said, “John and Marilyn, Nick’s parents, worked for years on the advisory board. I know that Nick will bring excitement and ideas that will help the board in the future.”

Freed-Hardeman University has operated Mid-South Youth Camp since the summer of 1957. The camp is open for eight weeks each summer and is available for retreats year-round. The board meets several times each year to discuss camp operations and to plan fundraisers. Annual events sponsored by the board include a fishing rodeo, a fish fry and a barbecue supper. Many members also participate in service days, working on camp maintenance.
