    Freed-Hardeman University presented awards March 18 to five nursing students who are expected to receive the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in May. The awards ceremony was conducted earlier than planned because of the COVID-19 crisis.

  • Freed-Hardeman University to Offer Chapel Online

    Freed-Hardeman University students begin online classes Monday, April 6, but a class day at FHU always includes chapel. Therefore, the university will also provide daily chapel online Monday-Friday at 10:30am for the foreseeable future.

    Freed-Hardeman University has announced the finalists for the 2020 Mr. and Miss FHU. Since 1940, Freed-Hardeman students have selected the students who best represent the ideals of the university. Eight members of the senior class are vying for the title.

  • FHU to Offer Major in Sport Administration

    ​Freed-Hardeman University plans to begin offering a major in sport administration this fall, pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Housed in the College of Business, the Bachelor of Business Administration degree will offer students a robust business foundation focused on management, leadership skills and real-world applications in the sports industry.

  • FHU to Offer M.Ed. in Literacy

    Freed-Hardeman University will begin offering a Master of Education in literacy with an emphasis in English as a second language in Fall 2020, pending approval by the Tennessee Department of Education. The program, which bundles a master’s degree and endorsements in both English as a Second Language (ESL) and Reading Specialist, is unique to the state.

  • FHU Department of Fine Arts to Debut Original Musical

    An original musical by Dr. Alan Kinningham, associate professor of music theory and composition at Freed-Hardeman University, will be presented to the public for the first time Tuesday, March 10, at 6:00pm in the Kelley Doyle Recital Hall in FHU’s Draughon Music Center. A cast of 20 students will present a concert/reading of “The Shepherd of the Hills,” based on a 1907 novel of the same name by Harold Bell Wright.

  • FHU Theatre to Present Original Work of Devised Theatre

    Freed-Hardeman University Theatre will present “Alice!” Feb. 18, 20-22 at 7:00pm, Feb. 19 at 8:00pm and Feb. 22 at 2:00pm in FHU’s Black Box Theatre. The original work of devised theatre explores who Alice is as she climbs through the mirror or plunges down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.
