A Union City pediatrician will speak to Freed-Hardeman University’s Ethics Colloquium at 7:00pm Monday night, Sept. 30, 2019, in Ayers Auditorium. Dr. John Bates will discuss medical mistrust with students in FHU’s Pre-Health Arts Program (PHAP).
Freed-Hardeman University and Chester County High School have amended their dual enrollment agreement to include a new program begun this year at CCHS. Teaching as a Profession (TAP) will allow eligible students to get a head start on completing a four-year degree, qualifying them to teach in Tennessee schools and saving themselves both time and money.
Dr. Rick Brumback, Freed-Hardeman University Bible professor and a narrator of Bible Land Passages, a documentary series, recently presented a paper of original research at the 18th International Conference on Patristics Studies at Oxford University.
Approximately 2,000 middle and high school students are expected to converge on the campus of Freed-Hardeman University Sept. 27-29, 2019, for RUSH, an acronym for Reaching Unlimited Spiritual Heights. Students will attend classes and lectures designed to enhance spiritual growth and enjoy fellowship opportunities, all in an effort to help them draw closer to God and to one another.
Freed-Hardeman University has moved up eight spots in the 2020 U.S. News and World Report ranking of colleges and universities, making this the second consecutive year FHU has made major gains in the standings. In the past two years, the university has moved up 15 spots.
In its 150th year, Freed-Hardeman University is celebrating more than its history. This fall’s numbers show another year of record enrollment, according to FHU President David R. Shannon. Total head-count for the Fall 2019 semester stands at a record-breaking 2,117 students, an increase of 100 over last year.
Freed-Hardeman University First Lady Tracie Shannon and the Office of Alumni Engagement are launching a project in celebration of children who join alumni families through birth or adoption.
Dr. Justin Rogers, Freed-Hardeman University associate professor of Bible and director of the FHU Graduate School of Theology, has accepted an invitation to join the International Philo Bibliography Project, under the direction of David T. Runia of Melbourne, Australia.
Freed-Hardeman University Theatre will present “Twelve Angry Jurors” Aug. 22-24 at 8:00pm in the Black Box Theatre. In addition, a 2:00pm matinee performance is scheduled for Aug. 24. The cast is comprised of FHU alumni and members of the faculty.
Restoration of the Hardeman House, home of long-time Freed-Hardeman President N.B. Hardeman, has been completed. FHU will host a ribbon cutting and viewing of the house Aug. 21 at 2:00pm.
