Inquoris “Inky” Johnson, former University of Tennessee football player and motivational speaker, will headline Freed-Hardeman University’s Sports Advisory Council Benefit Dinner Thursday, April 19. FHU’s Sports Advisory Council will host the dinner and speech to raise funds for the university’s intercollegiate athletic programs.

Social club Xi Chi Delta swept the 2018 Makin’ Music awards Saturday night, April 7, 2018. Their “A Venture with the Vikings” won the sweepstakes award, placing first in every category of judging. Second and third place in the sweepstakes went to Phi Kappa Alpha’s “Rather Be in Hollywood” and Chi Beta Chi’s “Somewhere in My Memory,” respectively. Theta Nu won the Spirit of Makin’ Music award which was presented Friday night to the club who best embodies the spirit of the event.

Before Freed-Hardeman University students went on spring break, they spent an entire weekend, striving to hit the right notes and polishing their choreography. Makin’ Music retreat weekend, March 16-18, was the big push before the show, “Live on East Main,” opens April 6 in Loyd Auditorium.

Former United States Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales spoke at the American Values Forum in the Performance Hall of the Renaissance Center in Dickson on Thursday, March 1, 2018. The event was designed to raise scholarship funds for students finishing their college degrees at Freed-Hardeman University/Dickson.

The 2018 spring tour, March 25-29, of Freed-Hardeman University Chorale will take the singers to five Alabama cities and one in Florida. They will sing at churches in Mobile, Summerdale, Birmingham, Gadsden, and Huntsville, all in Alabama, and in Marianna, Florida.

Twenty-four Freed-Hardeman University students were inducted into Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society Monday, March 12, 2018. Membership is by invitation only to juniors and seniors who have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on at least 80 credit hours.
