Twenty-four Freed-Hardeman University students were inducted into Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society Monday, March 12, 2018. Membership is by invitation only to juniors and seniors who have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on at least 80 credit hours.
Freed-Hardeman University Theatre will present “Drowning Girls” March 15-18 in the Black Box Theatre with evening performances at 7:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2:00pm matinees Saturday and Sunday.

“Deaf people want to talk about Jesus,” Frank Rushing told the chapel audience Feb. 7, 2018, at Freed-Hardeman University’s Annual Bible Lectureship. “But,” he continued, “No one comes to talk to them.”
Freed-Hardeman University’s Annual Bible Lectureship included sessions for all ages, including the youngest. The event included a kids’ lectureship with classes for infants to fifth grade and a teen lectureship for those in grades 6-12.
Former United States Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales will speak Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the American Values Forum in the Performance Hall of the Renaissance Center in Dickson. The event is designed to raise scholarship funds for students finishing their college degrees at Freed-Hardeman University/Dickson.
Freed-Hardeman University will again be represented at an honors chorale program at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Students Parker Pearce, Greenfield, Missouri; Jacob Mosley, Rogers, Arkansas; Jacob Dowdy, Gadsden, Alabama; and Summer England, Hebron, Kentucky, have been selected to be part of the Young Adults Honors Choir to perform at Carnegie Hall Feb. 4. The performance, which will be held in the Isaac Stern Auditorium/Ronald O. Perelman Stage, will be the culmination of several days of intense rehearsals with Dr. Eph Ehly, conductor.
Laquita Thomson, associate professor of fine arts at Freed-Hardeman University, has been selected to make a presentation at the Ninth Henry D. Green Symposium for the Decorative Arts. The conference theme, Belonging: Georgia and Region in the National Fabric, will be explored Feb. 1-3, 2018, at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia.
The 82nd Annual Bible Lectureship at Freed-Hardeman University, is set for Feb. 4-8, 2018. More than 150 speakers will address the theme, “Entrusted with the Faith: Multigenerational Mission in Timothy and Titus.”
