    More than 100 Freed-Hardeman University students will receive diplomas Friday, Dec. 16. Commencement exercises for those completing their work this semester will begin at 6:00pm in Loyd Auditorium.

  • Freed-Hardeman University Begins Process of Naming New President

    Freed-Hardeman University has begun the process of naming a new president, following Dr. Joe Wiley’s announcement of his intent to retire June 1, 2017. The FHU Board of Trustees called upon faculty, staff, alumni and friends to begin the transition process by engaging in 10 days of prayer. “The trustees believe all good things begin with prayer,” John Law, chairman of the board, said.

  • FHU Art Professor’s Article Published in Historical Society Papers

    An article by a Freed-Hardeman University art professor is included in the most recent volume of “The West Tennessee Historical Society Papers.” Laquita Thomson’s work is titled “Major William Stanley’s Path Through Tennessee.”

  • FHU Benefit Dinner Featuring Peyton Manning Raises $1.68 Million

    Freed-Hardeman University’s 52nd Annual Benefit Dinner grossed almost $1.7 million Friday, Dec. 2, according to FHU President Joe Wiley. Peyton Manning, retired quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, was the speaker. The amount is second only to the 2010 dinner which featured former President George W. Bush.

  • FHU Crowns Homecoming King and Queen

    Freed-Hardeman University crowned its 2016 Homecoming king and queen Saturday, Nov. 12. The FHU student body had selected the 2016 king and queen from the six senior class representatives. Cassie Sikes of York, Nebraska, was chosen as the queen, and Noah Icenhour of Springfield, Ohio, was chosen as the king.

  • FHU Annual Benefit Dinner Expect to Raise $1.6 Million

    Freed-Hardeman University’s Annual Benefit Dinner Dec. 2, 2016, is on track to raise $1.6 million for scholarships again this year, according to Dave Clouse, FHU vice president for advancement. However, general admission tickets and sponsorships to the event featuring former Tennessee Vol and NFL legend Peyton Manning are still available.

  • Three from FHU to Sing at Carnegie Hall

    Two Freed-Hardeman University students and a recent graduate will participate in the Young Adult Honors Performance Series Feb. 2-6, 2017, at Carnegie Hall. The three include Austin England, a law and politics major from Henderson; Parker Pearce, a Bible major from Greenfield, Missouri; and Abby Lambert, a 2016 theatre graduate now living in Sacramento, California.

  • FHU Announces 2016 Homecoming Royalty

    The 2016 Freed-Hardeman University homecoming court will be presented during the daily chapel service Wednesday, Nov. 9. The king and queen will be crowned Saturday, Nov. 12, during halftime of the Lady Lions’ basketball game. The student body selected the representatives from each class.

    Freed-Hardeman University will celebrate its annual Homecoming festivities Nov. 11-12. Alumni, students, parents and prospective students can join the fun at the place that “Feels Like Home to Me” by participating in a variety of activities. Student activities will begin Nov. 6, with daily events leading up to Saturday’s basketball games and coronation
