  • Three from FHU to Sing at Carnegie Hall

    Two Freed-Hardeman University students and a recent graduate will participate in the Young Adult Honors Performance Series Feb. 2-6, 2017, at Carnegie Hall. The three include Austin England, a law and politics major from Henderson; Parker Pearce, a Bible major from Greenfield, Missouri; and Abby Lambert, a 2016 theatre graduate now living in Sacramento, California.

  • FHU Announces 2016 Homecoming Royalty

    The 2016 Freed-Hardeman University homecoming court will be presented during the daily chapel service Wednesday, Nov. 9. The king and queen will be crowned Saturday, Nov. 12, during halftime of the Lady Lions’ basketball game. The student body selected the representatives from each class.

  • FHU Homecoming 2016: “Feels Like Home to Me,” Nov. 11-12

Alumni, students, parents and prospective students can join the fun at the place that “Feels Like Home to Me” by participating in a variety of activities. Student activities will begin Nov. 6, with daily events leading up to Saturday’s basketball games and coronation

  • FHU to Host Second Annual University Scholars’ Day

    Freed-Hardeman University will conduct its Second Annual University Scholars' Day Oct. 28. The event is a school-wide recognition of students’ and faculty’s research achievements. Students will attend the sessions most relevant to their interests to learn more about their classmates' and teachers' endeavors.

  • FHU Spanish Majors Study Language, Ancient Cultures; Learn about the World and Themselves

    "This was not only a journey of discovery about the larger world, but it was also one of self-discovery," Linda Moran said as she discussed the July 2016 Madrid Study Abroad program. Eleven Freed-Hardeman University students joined Moran, FHU Spanish instructor, for the month-long Spanish immersion course.

  • Broadway Professional to Work with FHU Theatre Students

    Freed-Hardeman University students will have the opportunity to work with Broadway professional Laura Osnes Oct. 25, 2016. The culminating event, “Broadway After Class: An Evening with Laura Osnes and Friends,” will be a performance at 7:00pm in FHU’s Old Chapel Hall.

  • Freed-Hardeman President Joe Wiley Announces Retirement

    Dr. Joe Wiley has announced he will retire as president of Freed-Hardeman University effective June 1, 2017. In sharing his decision, Wiley said, “When I interviewed for the position of president of FHU, I was asked how long I intended to serve. My response was a minimum of seven years and a maximum of 10. This year, I will complete my ninth year as president of Freed-Hardeman University.” While stating his intent to retire at the end of the 2016-17 academic year, Wiley added, “If a new president is not identified and/or not able to take office on June 1, 2017, the board has requested (and I have agreed) that I will continue to serve as president until a successor has been employed.”

  • U.S. News & World Report Ranks FHU in Top Tier

    U.S. News & World Report has ranked Freed-Hardeman University in the top tier of 146 schools included in the Regional Universities—South rankings. FHU will be listed 43rd in the “Best Colleges 2017” guidebook. In addition, FHU will be listed as #14 in “Best Value Schools.”
