Energy Conservation

Freed-Hardeman University embraces energy conservation and believes it to be our responsibility to ensure that every reasonable effort is made to conserve energy while exercising sound financial management. Our energy conservation program monitors the use of electricity, water, and natural gas on university properties. We track our energy consumption using a holistic approach of auditing facilities, data collection, financial analysis, customization of HVAC systems, and monitoring of mechanical equipment.

Freed-Hardeman is proud to be recognized as an ENERGY STAR Partner. ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency. FHU is also part of the ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign. This campaign is a nationwide effort to assist and recognize organizations for reducing the energy consumed by IT equipment.
