Waste Reduction and Recycling

Campus-Wide Efforts

While on campus, you have an opportunity to participate in our recycling program. Paper recycling bins are located in office areas across campus. As you move into your dorm or receive packages from home, you can recycle the cardboard. Plastic soda bottle and aluminum can recycling bins are located in the Burks Student Center, Brewer Sports Center and in many dorms. In addition, many students participate in the City of Henderson Recycling Program to recycle other plastic items such as milk jugs or laundry detergent bottles.

Loden-Daniel Library Recycling

The Loden-Daniel Library staff is dedicated toward good stewardship of natural and library resources. They actively resell or recycle books withdrawn from the university's collection.

If you happen to be on campus for a visit and are looking for a good book to read, check out the library's READ-cycle section. You do not need to have a library card to take or donate a book from this section. READ-cycle is free to all.

The next time your printer runs out of ink, take the empty ink cartridge to the library annex. Funds received from these toner cartridges are used to purchase additional resources for the university library.
